Equipment Customization

SST provides custom automated turnkey systems for complex or repetitive spraying tasks. Either Cartesian XY or 7-axis robot models are available. These systems provide consistent and repeatable programmable motion at an affordable price and are ideally suited for industrial cold spray production.

Following are some examples of basic configurations that have been supplied to customers for specific applications.

Any system can be customized to suit your specific equipment standards and industrial production requirements.

Cartesian Robot with Downdraft Table Example 
This system configuration includes: 

• 80 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm (31 in x 15 in x 15 in)
• 3-Axis Cartesian Robot * with an accuracy of -/+ 0.01mm (0.0004 in) 
• 75 cm deep x 120 cm wide x 45 cm high (30 in x 48 in x 18 in) work area
• SST Automatic Spray Gun (6mm nozzle, 3.8 kW heater)
• Optional low-pressure volumetric powder feeding system
• Computer interface
• Power supply and control unit with graphical HMI
• Air preparation equipment
• 10HP downdraft water filtration dust collection system
• Guarding and door interlocTeach pendant 

7-Axis Robot Cell with Downdraft Table Example

A standard 7-Axis robot cell provides the capability to spray complex substrates. These systems are fully programmable. You can simply position this cell at the worksite and start spraying.

• 7-Axis Robot (6 kg minimum) to suit customer specifications 
• Optional 7th-Axis integrated motion table for additional part manipulation/rotation capabilities
• 90 cm deep x 180 cm wide x 60 cm high (36 in x 72 in x 24 in high) work area
• Automatic Spray Gun, 6mm nozzle, 3.8 kW heater
• Optional low-pressure powder feeding system
• Power supply and control unit with graphical HMI
• Air preparation equipment
• 10HP downdraft air filtration system with supplemental regenerative air curtain
• Perimeter guarding and door interlock

Combination Automatic-Manual Spray Cabinet Example

Combination cabinets enable the alternative use of a handheld spray gun or a robotic spray gun within the same spray cabinet.  These configurations come complete with ventilation units and safety interlocks and can be custom designed to satisfy a large range of Cold Spray applications.  These systems can provide total flexibility for applying cold spray to an assortment of parts and under diverse spray specifications.
